TEACHER WORKSHOPS

Believe it or not, even adults like to hit drums! The purpose of this popular workshop is to present the ins and outs of Percussive Storytelling to educators, who can then bring Percussive Storytelling back into classrooms. Specifically, educators will get to actively participate in the creation of a story, immediately set it to music, and receive information about how to implement Percussive Storytelling into the classroom.

Educational studies like Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences  point to the power of interdisciplinary learning. A Percussive Storytelling Teacher Workshop explores this concept by tapping into the different learning mechanisms children have. Instead of reading stories word by word, page by page, we explore how to make the stories come alive by adding artistic elements such as music and movement and as a result, be more impactful for more students.
